Sandith Thandasherry is a naval architect, entrepreneur, and maritime technology leader with more than two decades of experience in the marine industry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture from IIT Madras and an MBA from INSEAD.

His career has been driven by a passion for solving real-world challenges in the maritime industry through technology and innovation. He founded Navgathi Marine and later Navalt, where he pioneered clean marine transportation and led the development of India’s first solar-electric ferry, Aditya. Building on this experience, Sandith founded Oceanix with a vision to bring greater intelligence to vessel operations. He recognized that ships generate enormous amounts of operational data, but much of that data remained fragmented and difficult to turn into actionable insights.

Oceanix was created to bridge that gap — combining naval architecture, digital analytics, and maritime expertise to help shipowners and operators understand vessel performance, optimize efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and accelerate decarbonization. Today, Sandith continues to lead Oceanix with a clear mission: to make maritime operations more efficient, profitable, and sustainable through better use of data and technology.
